This course is separated into four modules of learning:
Module One: Planning Your Professional Development
In this module, we explore the importance of purpose and objectives for your training session. We consider how to use time effectively throughout the training and how to structure and scaffold the learning.
Module Two: Selecting Materials
In this module, we think about the materials you will need in a training session. We offer tips on how to choose and design learning materials as well as understanding the issues around intellectual property.
Module Three: Using the Environment
In this module, we start by thinking about what participants’ first impressions might be as they walk into the room. We consider if and how to organise the furniture and whether the use of accessories is helpful.
Module Four: Presenting
In this module, we discuss all aspects associated with being a presenter – from first impressions to ensuring all participants feel included. We also reflect on the advantages and disadvantages of using presentation software.
