The Government has recently updated its guidance on information sharing twice to ensure alignment with Data Protection legislation and the Information Commissioner's guidance. The straightforward approach of the previous document has been replaced with complex instructions that all schools must now adhere to.
This course will dissect the new guidance, ensuring that schools understand who they can share information with, when they can share it, and how to do so properly. From a safeguarding perspective, it will focus on using information to keep children and young people safe.
This Connex-Academy course is led by Debbie Innes-Turnill, a safeguarding consultant and lecturer in Child Protection at the University of Birmingham. With 30 years of experience as a teacher, deputy head, head teacher, and designated safeguarding lead, Debbie is now a specialist in safeguarding children and young people.
