In the story we look at our right to make choices for ourselves. We also look at stereotyping and old-fashioned ideas.

This story covers the following themes:

Learning Outcomes
This story will cover the following topics:
  • Stereotypes, including gender stereotypes.
  • Similarities and differences.
  • Managing relationships, being respectful and responsible.
  • Promoting that children should always tell an adult that they know they can trust, if they are worried or scared.
The outcomes of this story are:
  • I can tell you what similar and different
    mean and give some examples.
  • I know that we should not decide what
    someone is like just because of what they
    wear or how they look.
  • I know it is important to ask for help and
    advice from a trusted adult.
  • I can tell you about some similarities and differences with my friends.
  • I understand what a stereotype is, and why they can be unfair.
  • I know that our differences are a good thing and that everyone is unique.
  • I know that it's important to tell a trusted adult if i am worried or need help.
