In the story we look at emotions and feelings and how they can affect us.


We also look at emotional wellbeing, and how we can help ourselves to manage our own wellbeing.

Learning Outcomes
This story will cover the following topics:
  • What emotional wellbeing (EWB) is.
  • Understanding what emotions and feelings are.
  • Understanding why talking about our feelings is a good thing to do.
  • Knowing how you can resolve issues with other people without resorting to anger.
  • Understanding how we can affect and influence our own EWB.
  • Knowing how we can regain our calm and focus by using exercises/techniques to achieve this.
  • Promoting that children should always tell an adult that they know they can trust, if they are worried or scared.
The outcomes of this story are:
  • I know some ways to help a friend if they are struggling.
  • I can ask for help from an adult if I need to.
  • I know ways that I can help myself to deal with my feelings.
  • I understand what an emotion is.
  • I understand what a feeling is.
  • I can begin to understand how someone else might be feeling.
  • I know what to I can do to try and help myself.
  • I understand that if I can’t help myself that I should get help from a trusted adult.
  • I know what to do if I feel upset by someone or something.
  • I know what to do if I think I might have upset others.
  • I understand that if I cannot sort out a problem myself, I should get help from a trusted adult.
  • I understand that using violence is never the answer to an issue.
  • I know what to look out for if I am having a bad day.
  • I understand that we all have bad days sometimes, that’s just life!
