This lesson series will cover the following topics:
  • To reflect on what pupils currently know about puberty in males and females.
  • To understand the function of puberty in both males and females as part of the human lifecycle.
  • To prepare for the physical and emotional changes during puberty, and the challenges this can sometimes bring.
  • To prepare for the physical and emotional changes during puberty, and the challenges this can sometimes bring.
  • To understand the importance of self-care and personal hygiene as our bodies change
  • To understand how to better manage feelings and emotions during puberty.
The outcomes of this lesson series are:
  • I know about the physical changes for both males and females that happen during puberty.
  • I know about internal and external parts of the male and female body, including the reproductive system.
  • I understand some of the challenges that puberty can bring, but also why puberty is an important part of growing up.
  • I know ways to keep clean and healthy during puberty.
  • I understand how and why feelings and emotions can change because of puberty.
  • I know what I can do to help with my emotions and feelings.
