In the story we look at tobacco use and its risks. We also look at appropriate ways to look more grown up.

This story will cover the following topics:
  • Developing an understanding of the immediate effects of tobacco use.
  • Developing an understanding of the long-term risks of tobacco use.
  • Demonstrating the principles of friendship.
  • Highlight appropriate interacting.
  • Looking at age-appropriate ways to demonstrate how ‘grown up’ a child is.
  • Understanding that accidents can happen very quickly - so children need to be supervised at all times.
  • Promoting that children should always tell an adult they know they can trust if they are worried or scared.
The outcomes of this story are:
  • I can understand why I should never use tobacco products.
  • I know that smoking tobacco can lead to lots of different health risks.
  • I know that showing I am more grown up is about more than just looking like an adult.
  • I know that if I am scared, I should talk to an adult I can trust.
  • I know that if I see someone being silly, or doing something that might be bad for them, then I should tell an adult.
  • I know I should always be honest and not lie about things.
