In the story we look at consent. We also look at how our actions can affect others in ways we might not have intended.

This story covers the following themes:

This story will cover the following topics:
  • Basic elements of consent and permission.
  • Safe and unsafe touch.
  • Importance of seeking permission and consent
  • Understanding that it is ok to speak out and say no if you don't want to do something, like being hugged or touched.
  • Managing relationships, being respectful and responsible.
  • Promoting that children should always tell and adult that they know they can trust, if they are worried or scared.
The outcomes of this story are:
  • I can tell you what consent and permission mean and give some examples of this.
  • I know it’s ok to say no if I don’t want
    to do something.
  • I understand about personal boundaries
    and the fact that some people may not want
    to be touched.
  • I understand about respecting a person’s private space.
  • I understand a person has a right to choose what happens to them.
